July 1, 2017 post Welcome to First Edition of our new newsletter! We trust you will find it informative and easy to navigate. When we opened the new CLUB the Board of Trustees wanted our newsletter to reflect a fresh beginning, indeed a jump into the 21st century. This version of the newsletter has been a result of hard work by Ron Hemmer and his committee led by John Hogan; who's relentless efforts have culminated in this edition. I applaud them on their outcome. So the summer is finally here! We have waited all year for our first full summer at the new CLUB and things could not be more optimistic. As most of you are aware the Bar and Galley are open and doing well; we hope to see you down at the CLUB in the near future to partake in some enjoyment. Our philanthropic endeavors continue as we have invited many local organizations to the CLUB to utilize our building for a meeting or discussion. We have also provided our location as work site for a number of clubs, groups and schools. Next big event is the annual crab contest scheduled for Sunday JULY 23. This is a MUST ATTEND (don't miss) event, where everyone is guaranteed a good time. Captains meeting is scheduled for Friday July 21. (see inside for more details). Finally, I want to take this opportunity to inform you that I have decided not to seek reelection as your Commodore. I have led this CLUB through the most difficult period in its history, rebuilt the clubhouse while improving and enhancing OUR reputation in the community and have commenced many new initiatives which I trust will be continued. At this juncture I feel that new leadership will effectuate continued progress and improvements. I am extremely honored and proud to have served these many years and thank you all for your your trust. Sincerely, Tom Noonan Commodore |
