Commodore’s Message
First off, I would like to thank the membership for voting me in as your Commodore. I am beyond humbled by the love and support of the membership. I would like to personally thank Trustee Lisa DiPaolo for helping me clean and organize the whole building from the bottom floor to the 3rd floor. There is now a lost and found for items located on the first floor on the top of the ramp along with a coat rack. I would also like to personally thank Eric Baumann and Lorie Hannah for all the hard work they do volunteering around the building every week. As well, a big thank you to member Dave Slowinski who is always outside on the beach getting a great workout in. He always gets the beach cleaned for the club events such as the Labor Day Party. Also, I would also like to thank Trustee Stan Kazima for seeing my vision through and building a beautiful handicap accessible shelf attached to our bar for anyone who is in a wheelchair or needs to be seated in one of our dining room chairs at the bar. Vice Commodore Rainer Moellering and Trustee Stan Kazima have started a burgee exchange program called, “Give One Get One”. Please request one of our burgees if you are visiting another yacht club that will exchange for one of theirs. The exchanged burgee will then be hung in our club with the location of the club’s burgee and your name on a plague under the burgee. Please check out the current burgees hanging so we receive no duplicates. For any more information please see Rainer or Stan. The Labor Day Party was a big success. It was great seeing all the volunteers that supported our club that day. We had great food, music, and a lot of fun amongst the members. Thank you to all the volunteers, without you all we would not be the best club that we are. As we are coming into Fall, we have a lot of great things occurring at your club. Past Commodore Ron Heinzman will be cooking in the kitchen twice a month on Friday nights making all his delicious specials. He will be in the kitchen Friday September 29th, this month.
