As we move into the fall, I again wish to thank everyone that ran for office and congratulate all the candidates elected to the 2021-2022 Board of Trustees. I also wish to thank a few members that gave a helping hand to Trustee Larry Clarici and I the other night during the remnants of Hurricane Ida. A few boats were heavily damaged, and we had one sink on the East dock. Board members Andy Chencharik, Vanessa Heinzman along with club member Russ Cline, and former Commodore Ed Horton helped us until it was unsafe, and we had to leave the docks. The water was shut off due to a broken water line. Member Kristen Aquino’s husband Mark and my son Ron Heinzman Jr. volunteered their time and fixed the water issue on the dock on Friday (9/3). Thank you both.
The Labor Day “Meet and Greet” brunch was a success. Thank you to Trustee (Chef) Lenny Gomez and member Eric Baumann along with all the kitchen volunteers for all your hard work this week in prepping for the event. Another big shout out to Bob Schaffener and his crew of volunteers for the set up and break down of the beach equipment. As we move into the Fall, I want to take the time to let each member know that we continue to fog the building for COVID-19 and the cleaning crew in addition to doing the fantastic job they do, take the time to hit every touchable service to include every door handle in the building from the front door to the back decks. It continues to be the top priority of the Board of Trustees to maintain your building in the highest standards. Just as a general reminder, if you do not feel well or just think it’s the common cold, (Probably is) stay out of the building for a few days until you’re better. Respectfully, Ron Heinzman, GPYC Commodore Comments are closed.
